The Bog Visitor Centre is one of few remnants of a once bustling mining village, the former school sits in the shadow of the Stiperstones in Shropshire. Over 150 years old the Victorian building now provides a service to visitors and locals to the area. Within the Shropshire Hills AONB the centre is part of a network of destinations for tourists to explore in this still quiet corner of England. Views Westwards cross the border into Wales, with some peaks of the Snowdonia National Park visible on clear days.
The centre is staffed by local helpers who are always happy to share their knowledge of the area and help you discover what this dramatic landscape has to offer. A warm welcome is always received, light refreshments are available predominantly of the ‘tea and cake’ variety. We close for the winter, our opening season usually runs from March to November. Free WIFI is available inside, we have toilets with disabled and baby changing facilities and dogs on leads are always welcome.
