Little Hall Cottage in the peaceful Clun valley, has its origins in the 18th century, and has now been extended to offer 2 ensuite guest bedrooms.

Each has glorious views across the river Clun and up to the hills beyond. The rooms open onto a terrace where you can sip a coffee, watch shadows chasing across the hills and buzzards wheeling overhead.

During our build we have sourced materials and supplies locally, and constructed the rooms with locally sourced oak frame and stone found on site. The sedum roof will grow into a multi-coloured carpet and help provide habitats for wildlife.

Each room provides bright and comfortable accommodation with TV, Freesat and Wifi, and a well stocked hospitality tray.

Breakfast is sourced as much as possible from the Clun Valley, including eggs, bacon, sausages, honey and home made preserves. Evening meals and packed lunches are available on request and you will be welcomed with tea and homemade cake on arrival.

We are close to Offa’s Dyke (about 15 mins walk) and the Shropshire Way and there are footpaths and bridleways to suit everyone, from challenging hillside and moorland on Long Mynd and Stiperstones, to gentle valley and riverside routes. This area is steeped in history from prehistoric hill forts and standing stones to medieval castles, which bear witness to the turbulent past of border country.

There is always plenty going on in this part of the world. Festivals are held 10 months of the year ranging from food and drink, arts and crafts, music and performance.

Activities nearby include cycling, fishing and courses at Bobby Britnell Moor Hall studio, Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre, and Westhope College. The Shropshire Hills AONB arrange a programme of walks and events.

Clun (5 mins drive) offers all usual village amenities, including post office, shop and cashpoint, gift and craft shops, 2 pubs, 2 tea rooms. Explore the town’s history through a self guided tour and visit the castle, museum and historic almshouses.

Bishops Castle – leisure centre and theatre, museums, pubs and breweries.

A bit further north, Snailbeach Lead Mines and Bog centre are near the Stiperstones
