Visit Shropshire Hills Spring Newsletter

Welcome

As we begin to see signs of spring all around, we hope you are enjoying a prosperous start to 2022. In this issue:

– A look back at the Visit Shropshire Hills Leaflet Swap
– A fresh new look for our website
– What’s on in the Shropshire Hills.

Social Media Trends & More at the
Visit Shropshire Hills Leaflet Swap

Thank you to everyone who came along to the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre on Thursday 17th March for this year’s Leaflet Swap. Here are some of the highlights:

Louise Welsby from Buy-From gave a compelling talk about social media trends including Instagram Reels, advertising on Facebook and LinkedIn, collaborating with other businesses, and how social media is increasingly becoming a search tool. Scroll down for links to some of Louise’s Good Stuff from Buy-From and check out her ‘Live at 9’ every Friday morning on Instagram.
Nigel McDonald, Sustainable Tourism Officer for the Shropshire Hills AONB, updated us on the Destination Management Plan, as well as the ‘Shropshire Welcomes’ PR campaign and the work being carried out by Visit Shropshire, which is generating some great media coverage for the county, as we’ve seen in the past couple of VSH newsletters.
Several local businesses and organisations came along to support the leaflet swap and to provide some great materials to pass on to visitors to the area.

A Fresh, New Look for our Website

There’s a great fresh new look for our website – click here to check it out. As well as an update to incorporate the current branding colours and logo, we’ve added the iconic ‘Shropshire is Here’ map and there’s a much more comprehensive Events diary. The images are looking pretty fabulous too.

We think it’s a great improvement and we’re sure you’ll agree. Thanks to Kay Dartnell from Wheely Wonderful Cycling and Paul Hutchinson from Virtual Shropshire for making these changes. Please send any comments or feedback to info@visitshropshirehills.co.uk.
