We have recently employed Helen Culshaw of Ascendancy Internet Marketing to undertake some work on improving the SEO on www.visitshropshirehills.co.uk.
Helen’s team has now completed the work, and our web manager at Virtual Shropshire is already beginning to implement it.  We hope that it will improve our SEO and benefit all of us!  
 
As part of the exercise, Helen has also put together a 1 hour online presentation on basic content optimisation (SEO), which we hope will be of benefit to all our members who have a website.

Helen will cover basic content optimisation, including:

• Title tags
• Meta descriptions
• Heading tags such as H1s, H2s etc
• Body content
• Internal link building using descriptive anchor text
• The importance of avoiding duplicate content
• Finding and fixing broken links
• The importance of backlinks.

Helen will do this by sharing her screen and demonstrating all of the above using the back end of the Visit Shropshire Hills website – but the general principles could be applied to any website.
 
Helen is an acknowledged expert in her field, so we are delighted to be able to offer this training session to our members.  We hope it will give you more ideas on how to improve your own website.
