Tucked away in the glorious Shropshire countryside, eight miles from the market town of Ludlow, Trillow House was originally built as the old School Master’s House in the 1850s to a design by gothic architect AE Perkins. It has been recently restored with eco-friendly underfloor heating.
The house has two bedrooms; a double room and a twin room, sleeping up to four people. *There is a truckle bed available upon request which can sleep a small child.
The opportunities for walkers and mountain cyclists in the immediate vicinity are many and varied. Hiking on Caer Caradoc and the Long Mynd is accessible from Church Stretton, 12 miles away. Nearby trails include The Shropshire Way, Offa’s Dyke, The Herefordshire Trail and the Jack Mytton Way
There are a number of pubs serving food in the surrounding villages, notably the nearby Lion at Leintwardine, the Riverside at Aymestry and the Ludlow Farm Shop and cafe.
The area is richly populated with atmospheric iron age forts, medieval castles and stately homes. In particular there is National Trust gem, Croft Castle and, just down the road, the renowned fortified manor house, Stokesay Castle.
For younger children there is our large village green with slides and swings and the Secret Hills Discovery Centre in Craven Arms, 4 miles away.
