Looking For Something Different? An idyllic rural hideaway in a unique barn conversion, three miles south of Ludlow, in a great location for exploring the Mortimer Forest and Trail walks. Original pine beams, wood burning stove, private garden and stunning panoramic views. Short breaks available.
The Barn at Ryecroft has ample parking and two cosy double bedrooms. The sitting room and kitchen is open plan and furnished with a Stressless three piece suite and all the modern amenities you would expect; colour TV and DVD player, washing machine, dishwasher, fridge, microwave and electric cooker.
Large glazed doors open onto a spacious deck area surrounded by mature trees; ideal for eating out, making the most of our amply stocked bookcase or just listening to the birds. For the colder winter months, the interior of The Barn is completely timbered, with triple glazed windows and doors that keep the warmth from the wood burning stove in on a chilly day. Logs are included.
The Barn stands at the end of a leafy private drive, yet Jane and Martin are only a stone’s throw away to offer friendly advice on making the most of your stay. There are several local pubs to choose from for dining out or enjoying a drink.  The local shop/post office is situated approximately two miles away in the village of Orleton and of course Ludlow, Shropshire’s gastronomic capital, is only a ten minutes drive away.
The Barn is also ideally situated for exploring the Shropshire Hills and Church Stretton. The Malverns, the Welsh Borders to the Radnor Hills, Offas’s Dyke, and Herefordshire are all easily accessible. Shrewsbury and Ironbridge are only a day trip away.
If you like walking you can literally step through the entrance hall and out of the Barn’s stable door into scenic countryside. We are close to the Mortimer Forest and you can walk the Mortimer Trail, following ridge and valley between Ludlow and Kington. If any of our guests are interested in exploring the nearby trail routes we are happy to assist ferrying you along any points of the Trail.
