Mocktree Barns Cottages were once stone farm buildings, but have been converted to provide five comfortable, well-equipped cottages grouped round a sunny courtyard. Many of the original wooden beams and thick stone walls have been retained in the conversion.
JINNEY RING (sleeps up to 6) is a family cottage, accommodating up to six people. There is a double bedroom, two single bedrooms and a comfortable sofa bed in the lounge area. The cottage is fully equipped and has a washing machine, dishwasher and fridge/freezer.
STABLE COTTAGE (sleeps 2 – 3) provides ample space for two people, but can accommodate a small family for a short break. The king-size double bed can be split to provide twin beds – there are also a folding bed and travel cot available. The views toward the Clee Hills from this cottage are stunning whatever the season.
KIT and WEAVERS (sleep 2) are both single storey cottages ideal for a couple and have been very popular with our less mobile guests. They each have a double bedroom with en suite shower room/toilet (with grab rails). The lounge/dining rooms open onto the south- facing courtyard. Both cottages have fully equipped kitchen areas. We have various mobility aids and we will be pleased to discuss your specific requirements with you to help you to enjoy your holiday to the full. There is designated parking close to the cottage door. They have been inspected under the National Accessible Scheme and awarded Level 1.
KIBBLE MILL COTTAGE (sleeps 2) is a delightful, small two-storey cottage with a galleried double bedroom. It has been furnished with a ‘hint of yesteryear’ to include period furniture and some vintage pieces with an interesting story to tell. The low beams upstairs are part of the original farm building, but our taller guests should take care in the bedroom and en-suite shower room. This cottage faces away from the courtyard and provides a cosy hideaway.
CHILDREN of all ages are welcome and we have a large travel cot, high chair, baby bath and change mat. Toys, books and games are provided for our young visitors.
PETS Up to two, well behaved pets are welcome, but dogs must be kept on a lead in our grounds and the surrounding farmland.
THE LOCAL AREA Leintwardine village is a short drive away on the banks of the River Teme with a pub, traditional ale house, restaurant, shops and a garage. Leintwardine and neighbouring villages lie in ‘ Mortimer Country’ a beautiful area rich in history, including the ruins of the medieval Wigmore Castle and the Iron Age hill fort of Croft Ambrey. The historic town of Ludlow, with its excellent restaurants and popular festivals, is nearby. Knighton, Offa’s Dyke and the beautiful mid-Wales countryside are a few miles away to the west. Shrewsbury and the lovely cathedral cities of Hereford and Worcester make excellent day visits. There are many pretty villages and small market towns for visitors to explore in the area, fascinating castles to visit, delightful gardens and National Trust properties to see, as well as the world famous Ironbridge Gorge Museums and the Hereford ‘Mappa Mundi’. Acton Scott, the real ‘Victorian Farm’, is just a few miles away. Our visitors find no shortage of things to do and many return to explore this area again and again!
