A Great Day at ‘Talking Tourism’

We had some very positive feedback from members and speakers after the Talking Tourism event on March 19th at Acton Scott Heritage Farm.

From the owl-flying demonstration to the tour of the farm, this was very much an interactive day with plenty of networking opportunities, as well as a chance to learn about the latest developments in tourism within the Shropshire Hills.

Here are just a few of the comments made about the event:

“We loved helping out and it was lovely to meet some of the people I had only communicated with through email.”

“I really enjoyed the day and I wish you all lots of success in future.”

“Thank you so much for having us at the event, sorry we couldn’t stay longer. I hope the event was a great success and would be delighted to see any images from the day. Hope to see you again next year.”

“I just wanted to say thank you very much for the event yesterday, I found it very interesting and useful to meet up with other providers.”

Thanks to everyone who was able to attend. Below are links to some of the presentation slides:

Shropshire’s Great Outdoors New Website Launches

At ‘Talking Tourism’, Kate Tudge (Great Outdoors Project Officer) treated us to a sneak peak at the new Shropshire’s Great Outdoors website, which has now launched.

Shropshiresgreatoutdoors.co.uk is a fantastic resource for anyone living in or visiting Shropshire – it’s packed full of walking, cycling and horse-riding routes, as well as details of forthcoming outdoor events and details of the county’s country parks. One of the best features of the site is the interactive map, which allows you to zoom in on a particular area to find routes and then download or print them.
