Kerry Vale Vineyard is a small, family run, English vineyard situated on the Welsh / English border of rural Shropshire. Planted in 2010 and covering six acres of farmland, on what was the Roman Fort of Pentrheyling, the vineyard resides at the eastern tip of the Vale of Kerry – an area of exceptional beauty , just 3 miles south of the charming town of Montgomery.
We run vineyard tours three times a week and our Wine Café and Cellar Door shop are open throughout the season for morning coffee, lunches and afternoon tea.
Vineyard Tours & Tasting
Tasting wines and understanding how they are made is all part of the experience at Kerry Vale Vineyard. Whether you are looking for an interesting place to visit or a gift, our tours are perfect for anyone who enjoys wine.
Kerry Vale Vineyard is a great destination for coach tours and other group holiday specialists, as well as clubs, organisations and societies.
We welcome private groups of all sizes and can tailor tours to suit your requirements at any time of the week. See our Private Tours page for more information.
Café and Shop
Make the most of your visit. Once you’ve explored the vineyard, why not sit back and relax in our contemporary yet cosy new café, shop and visitor centre. You can enjoy a glass of wine, complemented by one of our delicious locally sourced cheese platters prepared in the vineyard kitchen. Or indulge with a traditional afternoon tea, served with wonderful English sparkling wine – a delightful way to spend the afternoon.
Inspired by a Dutch barn that once stood on the vineyard, our purpose built shop welcomes visitors with its contemporary and modern design. The shop offers a range of wines, and a selection of locally produced food and gifts which we are happy to wrap for that perfect present. Seasonal hampers and gift vouchers are also available.
Award Winning Wines
We are dedicated to producing wines of only the highest quality, utilising time honoured viticulture practices in the vineyard to produce the best possible fruit. We have selected disease-resistant varieties which allow us to keep spraying to a minimum. We also pay a great deal of attention to canopy management, maximising air flow through the canopy and sun and light exposure to suit the season. All of our wines are made at the award-winning Halfpenny Green Vineyard and are suitable for vegetarians.
Exhibitions
Exhibitions are displayed in our gallery space in the ‘Vineyard View’ room above the shop/café. The room is modern, clean, carpeted and well-lit.
