Group activities – where to play in the Shropshire Hills
Adventure centres in the Shropshire Hills have plenty of ideas for holiday groups that want some real excitement, including, specifically, stag and hen parties. There are also team challenges geared specifically to corporate requirements.
The Edge Adventure, on Wenlock Edge, offers multi-activity packages for corporate groups of all sizes, including team-building and problem-solving sessions or more physical challenges, all designed to encourage colleagues to work together. Stag and hen parties are also welcome and typically include a Segway trek, shooting, and a choice of other activites, such as zip wire or mountain boarding.
Oaker Wood Leisure, near Ludlow, offers a wide range of corporate events from a single day to exclusive use of its glamping village pods for longer stays. Just some of the possible activities include raft building, quad trekking and paintball.
Stags and hens can enjoy a similar range of activities, along with exclusive use of one of the glamping villages, with each pod sleeping from four to eight.
Live the Adventure, near Cleobury Mortimer, provides bespoke corporate and group events, including It’s a Knockout, Reward Days, and tailored team-building. Stag and hen parties are also welcome, with suggested activities including paddle boarding, paintball, laser or multi-activity.
If brain rather than brawn is your forté, then you might think about a course at Westhope College, which can accommodate up to 15 at its lovely woodland setting, near Craven Arms. Courses cover a wide variety of crafts and skills, such as calligraphy, jewellery, basketry and quilt-making. It also runs special days for groups in subjects including willow-weaving, enamelling, glass and print-making.
