Over the weekend of 23rd and 24th November 2019, join us for our 21st anniversary Fayre! Mingle with medieval jesters and enjoy live music as you explore over 100 stalls selling seasonal wares, food and drink, crafts, historical goods and more; it’s the ideal chance to find the perfect, original gift or indulge in a unique treat. With stalls spread throughout the Castle grounds in our decorated marquees and historical tents, you’ll find all our exhibitors dressed in their Medieval finery ready to help you find your perfect Christmas gift.
With a full timetable of entertainment all weekend including music, comedy, fighting knights, theatre and puppets, the Fayre is fantastic fun for all ages! Join in our carol singing sessions and our panto – oh yes you will! Have a go at archery and sword-fighting or why not try your hand at juggling and circus skills?
With a wide range of food and drink stalls to tickle your taste buds, grab a mulled wine, a spiced cider or head over to our local Beer Tent to whet your appetite for our full programme of entertainment.
From live music, theatre, comedy, juggling and swashbuckling sword fights by heroic knights, there’s entertainment throughout the castle all weekend – included in the price of your ticket!
Tickets are available on the gate and – at a lower price – online. Don’t forget that on Saturday we are open until 9pm, so why not come along and experience the Medieval Christmas Fayre after dark?
Wander over the drawbridge into the Inner Bailey for hands-on activities, sausages and beer and more. Meet the Master Falconer’s beautiful birds of prey, listen to The Yarnsmith of Norwich’s tall tales and try your hand at archery and circus skills. Also situated in the Inner Bailey, the Hands on History tent is jam-packed with a wide range of games and activities (including Medieval games, castle-building and brass rubbing).
Join us at the Castle Garden Stage for brand new theatre from Fayre favourites BZ Ents, jesting and japes with Peterkin and Kris Katchit, Sword School, wassailing and more. There’s plenty to do and plenty to see on the Market Place Stage this year including music, interactive theatre and a Tournament of Knights!
