The Talbot Hotel is situated on the main street of the charming small town of Cleobury Mortimer, and is midway between the historic towns of Bewdley and Ludlow.

The Talbot Hotel is a traditional 16th century understated & tastefully restored Black & White Country Inn. We offer a relaxed & welcoming atmosphere, whether your visit is to Drink, Dine or Dream.

We are a Grade two listed building so offer lots of quirky little things like our arched bathroom doors & low beams.  All our bedrooms are En-suite with showers, and all rooms have that home from home feeling.

A fantastic base to explore some of the historic places in this area or just to chill & relax with a good bottle of wine.  We are in a lovely little market town which provides all you need, some great walks on our doorstep.

There is an historic market cross in front of the Talbot Hotel, and legend has it that Prince Arthur, brother to Henry VIII was laid there on his journey to Worcester Cathedral.

Rooms

At the Talbot our rooms are very individual each with its own quirky fittings due to the age of the building, we have provided all the comforts of home, we have 6 bedrooms 4 doubles, 1 twin & a fabulous four poster room.

All rooms have En-suite shower rooms with complimentary toiletries. Allegedly some rooms have uninvited guest who pop in & move things around; this was featured in a book about haunted hotels in Shropshire. Always a memorable stay from our fantastic breakfast, quality ales, great food & new friends.

Cleobury Mortimer
Cleobury Mortimer was named when the Mortimer family established themselves here in 1086 and gave their name to the town. The crocked spire of St. Mary’s Church is a very prominent interesting feature of Cleobury Mortimer. The busy town of Kidderminster is a 20 minute drive away. There is also a regular bus service which runs between Ludlow and Kidderminster, with a bus stop just a few steps up the street from The Talbot Hotel.
