  • This lovely self catering accommodation, Heart of England Tourist Board 4 star rating is set on the edge of Bishops Castle. There are two bedrooms, one double and one twin-bedded, with beams throughout.  Mount Cottage is centrally heated, decorated and furnished to a high standard.  The living area is cosy and warm and the attached kitchen is modern and well-equipped.

    The cottage is situated on the upper edge of a very small market town with a population of about 1800 people. It is on the edge of an area of outstanding natural beauty. It is about 23 miles south of Shrewsbury and 19 miles northwest of Ludlow. It is about 60 miles from the Mid Wales coast. The cottage sleeps 4 with two upstairs bedrooms. The bathroom with toilet is downstairs with an over-bath power shower and there is an additional toilet.

    The cottage welcomes dogs and has a completely secure small garden. There is a solid stone, lockable shed with freezer, also suitable for dogs to dry off, and  for storage of bicycles

    The Cottage has oil central heating, electricity, and is on the mains water supply. There is Free WiFi, a colour TV/DVD/CD/Radio, automatic washing machine, dishwasher, freezer, microwave, duvets, linen and towels.

    The garden has a bench, table and chairs, and a BBQ. There is a garage beside the cottage and roadside parking nearby. The shops are only a 3 minute walk away.

    This area of South West Shropshire, with Mid Wales on the doorstep, is wonderfully unspoiled, unpolluted and comparatively traffic free.  The Stiperstones, the Long Mynd and the iron age fort of Bury Ditches are all nearby.

    Both riding and fishing can be easily arranged. There are also lovely gardens and country houses/castles open to the public, including Clive of India’s Powis Castle with its stunning hanging gardens.

    The Mid Wales coast is only 60 miles away and the drive passes through outstandingly beautiful countryside.

    Offa’s Dyke is close, and the Shropshire Way runs through Bishops Castle.

    The nearest station is in Craven Arms, 12 miles away, but there is a bus service from Bishops Castle to Shrewsbury (half an hour by car).

    Well- behaved pets are welcome.
