Paul’s work is concerned with those fundamental qualities found in nature, which our senses enjoy. In particular, surface, texture, colour, smell, pattern, temperature and movement. The work is sculptural yet functional, sensual yet often containing amusing conceptual ‘traps’. Each piece is guaranteed unique and generally labour intensive. He uses a wide variety of materials including wood, bronze, glass, stone, steel and leather; in fact anything that is appropriate.

    Amanda Brisbane Glass – 1hrs

Stanton Lacy, Shropshire, SY8 2AE View on Google maps

In the tiny hamlet of Stanton Lacy you will find internationally known and the UK’s foremost sand casted glass artist, Amanda Brisbane. Amanda’s work has a masterful fluency that depends entirely on the casting being completed in a single stage. As the molten glass begins to solidify, she intervenes, manipulating it with her hands, coaxing new shapes to materialize. It is an intense, engaging process which captures the exact moment the sculpture comes into being. Amanda replicates the essential characteristics of her designs, while slight variations in shape and colour only add to their beguiling, dramatic charm. Each piece of glass is a subtle collaboration of artistry and chemistry. Unusually, she produces all the raw materials used to colour the glass herself. Please contact to visit
