Writers in all genres are invited to take part in this course. The tutors, Olivia Levez, Eleanor Porter, Tim Reeves and Michael Woods are published authors in poetry and prose with a wealth of experience as creative writing lecturers and tutors, editors and working with agents. The course will consist of workshops, critique groups, one to one sessions, readings and a celebratory performance of participants’ work on the final night. In addition, we are delighted that Carol Ann Duffy will be the guest reader for one evening during the week. As well as having written poems for both adults and children, she is also a playwright, librettist, reviewer, editor and professor in the Creative Writing School at Manchester Metropolitan University. Having recently finished her tenure as Poet Laureate, here is a rare opportunity to hear and talk to one of the most influential poets of our time. Sincerity, her most recent collection, is a tour de force.
Walcot Hall is the perfect setting for this course which focuses on place, and will run from 9-14 March, 2020 (arrive on the Monday from 4.00pm, depart on Saturday at 10.30am).
