  • The Sun Inn is a beautiful 15th Century pub in the heart of the historic town of Clun, South Shropshire. A grade two listed building, the Inn is of cruck construction with a wealth of exposed oak beams and original charm.

We serve at least three traditional real ales, as well as the usual selection of keg and bottle beers, wines and soft drinks. Walkers are welcome. Well behaved dogs are welcome in our historic snug bar. More on drinking and relaxing at the Sun.

The Sun Inn serves home-made food made with good quality fresh ingredients, locally supplied wherever possible. Whether its soup, a sandwich and real ale that’s required or a three course meal accompanied by a good bottle of wine, we cater for all. More on dining at the Sun.

Our accommodation includes two double en-suite bedrooms and one twin room in the Old Stable Block which is quietly situated at the rear of the inn. The Granary is an exceptional en-suite double apartment at the rear of the Inn. Tariff from £30 single inclusive of breakfast. More on accommodation at the Sun.

This quaint 15th-century pub with simple rooms is a 3-minute walk from 13th-century ruins at Clun Castle and 5 miles from scenic walking paths at Lurkenhope Nature Reserve.
Breakfast is served in a casual dining room. The cosy pub with stone floors and exposed wood beams offers traditional ales and home-cooked pub classics. There’s also a garden.
