Accommodation Category: B and B

  • Gardeners Cottage B&B is a large, pretty Victorian cottage with high ceilings that was originally built for the gardener of Clungunford House. It has been extended and recently renovated to a high standard.

It affords views towards Clunbury Hill and is situated in the pretty village of Clungunford, surrounded by beautiful countryside. It is ideally situated for exploration of the Clun valley.

Situated in the Clun valley near the Shropshire/Welsh/Herefordshire borders it is centrally placed for exploring the lovely Georgian town of Ludlow, famous for its food festivals and castle. Bishops Castle and Knighton, both pretty medieval towns, are within easy reach. At Clun you can visit the medieval bridge over the river Clun, and the castle. In Craven Arms 4 miles away is the famous Stokesay Castle, the Discovery Centre and the musuem ‘The Land of Lost Content’. It also has a variety of shops, banks and a post office. Church Stretton, a 25 minute drive away, is a pretty town nestling in the foot hills of the Long Mynd, famous for walking and sight seeing.

We welcome walkers and cyclists and there are many lovely walks that can be done from the house. There is a sports field and children’s play area in the village. We are enthusiatic gardeners and the pretty garden is styled as a cottage garden and guests are welcome to sit in it and enjoy afternoon tea or just relax. A delicious cream tea is offered on arrival.

The house can sleep 4 guests. We have a twin bedded room (the beds can be converted to a Super King size double on request) with an en-suite bathroom. There is plenty of room for a travel cot in this room and we have a high chair available. The second room has a double bed and an en-suite with a walk in shower. Both rooms are well appointed with luxurious bedding, TV, radio, hairdryer and tea and coffee making facilities. There is a comfortable sitting room for guest use, with board games provided and a log burner for cosy evenings. It is the ideal room in which to relax with a good book and a bottle of wine! The breakfast menu offers a large variety of foods and caters for all dietary needs. It is served in an attractive dining room.

Special offer – have a longer Shropshire break, there is so much to do! We offer 5 nights for the price of 4.
